After an extensive search, the Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association (ONLA) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new executive director.  Frits Rizor officially joined the ONLA Staff Team on March 9, 2016, replacing ONLA Immediate Past President, Michael Dues.

Frits comes to ONLA with over 30 years of Green Industry experience.  Over the course of his career he has been involved in lawn & landscape contracting, garden center operations, corporate management and technical college education.  Past employers include Scotts Miracle-Gro and Hocking Technical College, where he served as Landscape Management Faculty and Department Chair of Natural Resources.

“I’m very excited to join the ONLA team.  With the support of the board, staff team, committee volunteers and members, ONLA continues to provide education, businesses services and legislative support for members from all areas of the Green Industry, " said Frits. "I believe that my professional experiences, knowledge of industry opportunities and challenges, along with my institutional education experience will help us continue the rich tradition of success and grow alongside the next wave of industry professionals."

“We are very excited to have Frits joining our association! Frits has valuable experience in all facets of the ‘Green Industry’ and his enthusiasm to lead our association to the next level is contagious. I, for one, being part of the interview team, feel he is the right person to lead our association with honesty and integrity,” said Immediate Past President & Interim Executive Director Michael Dues.

Frits earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Ohio State University; where he also completed his Master of Business Administration at the Fisher College of Business.

A native of Columbus, Frits currently resides in Granville, OH with his wife Jennifer and has two daughters, one currently at Miami University of Ohio, where the other will also attend in the fall.  Frits and his wife enjoy just about anything outdoors including bicycling, hiking, gardening and grilling out with friends and family.
