This session is a demonstration and hands-on practice for participants in seasonal pruning to shape, control size without stimulating unwanted or excessive new growth.   Tools, methods, options and tips will be discussed to provide a first-person understanding of maintenance pruning hedges, shrubs and trees to shape them and keep them small. Participants are to bring: gloves, hand clippers, small pruning saw and loppers, and are invited to bring sample branches that illustrate pruning.

Instructor Bio

Janet Macunovich, certified horticulturist, professional gardener, author, radio host, educator and columnist with 30+ years of experience. Janet owns Perennial Favorites, a garden and landscape design firm with her husband and serves clients nationally. Janet is an Advanced Master Gardener and the founder of the Michigan School of Gardening. Janet delivers dynamic presentations for Perennial Plant and Nursery & Landscape Associations around the country and earned top ratings at 2015 CENTS University.
