Take a walk to observe a variety of insects, diseases and physiological problems in a diverse residential planting and learn the approach one horticulturist uses to manage them. Included in observation and discussion: environmental influences, history, determining efficacy of prior control efforts and current plans, class and mode of action of controls employed. Examples include cultural, physical, biological and chemical control options for problems of herbaceous perennials as well as hardy shrubs and trees. Participants are invited to bring questions for open discussion period. The session is conducted at a private residence in Beavercreek, Ohio; street address will be provided upon registration.

Instructor Bio

Janet Macunovich, certified horticulturist, professional gardener, author, radio host, educator and columnist with 30+ years of experience. Janet owns Perennial Favorites, a garden and landscape design firm with her husband and serves clients nationally. Janet is an Advanced Master Gardener and the founder of the Michigan School of Gardening. Janet delivers dynamic presentations for Perennial Plant and Nursery & Landscape Associations around the country and earned top ratings at 2015 CENTS University.
